Hurghada

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in an air-conditioned mini bus at 9:00 a.m. by your German-speaking tour guide. El-Gouna is located about 22 kilometers north of Hurghada, directly on the Red Sea.
El Gouna (The Lagoon) was built by the Egyptian entrepreneur Samih Sawiris in April 1989 as a holiday area. El-Gouna was built in a mixture of traditional Nubian style and modern architecture, mainly using local materials such as clay and natural stone. El-Gouna has a small private airport for private or charter planes. There is a Coptic church and a mosque. There is a branch of the Alexandria Library in El-Gouna.
When you arrive in El-Gouna, you board a typical shuttle boat and enjoy a lagoon ride past the beautiful villas of the rich, including houses of German athletes and singers (let yourself be surprised by what your guide has to tell). Learn about the founder family Sawiris and the history of El-Gouna during the lagoon cruise. Afterwards, you can explore and discover the city center on your own; there are many small, beautiful shops and a little tip.
Behind the marketplace, there is a small craft market where you can watch how bracelets are knotted, pictures painted, and small figures made of stone being chiseled.
Finally, we enjoy walking through the Abu Tig Marina. It offers 117 berths for boats and yachts. We invite you to an Egyptian tea in an oriental café. Enjoy the flair of the marina and be enchanted by El-Gouna.
Then we drive you back to your hotel in Hurghada.
